Method
- Make cinnamon toast crunch simple syrup (see notes for recipe).
- Combine bourbon, amaretto, cinnamon toast crunch simple syrup, lime juice and apple cider to a bowl.
- Stir well and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, add the whole milkĀ (BONUS: let some cinnamon toast crunch cereal soak in the milk for about 20 minutes before using the milk for extra cinnamon toast crunch flavor).
- Pour the bourbon mixture INTO the whole milk.
- Set this aside and let the mixture curdle for at least 1 hour (ideally 2-5 hours).
- Put a coffee filter into a fine mesh strainer.
- Place the fine mesh strainer over a bowl.
- Pour the curdled mixture through the coffee filter/strainer. It will begin to drip into the bowl.
- The full straining process will take roughly 4-6 hours.
- Store the final cocktail in a sealed bottle or jar in the fridge for up to 1 month.
Notes
Cinnamon toast crunch simple syrup:
- combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup cinnamon toast crunch cereal in a pot
- simmer over low heat
- once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat
- let cool with cereal still in the pot
- once cooled, strain cereal out and store in sealed bottle or jar in the fridge for up to 1 month
